Upcoming Closures on 11800 South and 13400 South for Sewer Line Construction

Two upcoming road closures just outside Herriman’s boundaries may significantly affect residents who travel through Riverton and South Jordan. These closures are part of the Jordan Basin Improvement District’s ongoing sewer line upgrade projects and are scheduled during the end of March and the Jordan School District’s spring break week.

Closure 1: 11800 South – Full Closure March 29–30

11800 South will be completely closed between 3600 West and 4000 West from Saturday, March 29 through Sunday, March 30. This closure is necessary to complete sewer main installation and tie-ins. All cross streets within the closure area will also be closed. Detour routes will direct drivers to use 11400 South. The work area is located beneath the Bangerter Highway overpass near The District shopping area.

The closure area is highlighted in red, with detour routes directing traffic to 11400 South. Green arrows indicate alternative residential access routes, and a project contact section is displayed at the bottom.

Closure 2: 13400 South – Traffic Restrictions March 31–April 4

From Monday, March 31 through Friday, April 4, construction near the intersection of 13400 South and 4050 West (Old Liberty Way) will result in several traffic changes. The left turn lanes from eastbound 13400 South to northbound Old Liberty Way (an existing long-term detour route) will be reduced from two turn lanes to one. Lanes from Bangerter Highway to 13400 South will remain open, but there will still be no access from 13400 South to Bangerter Highway. Local business access will be detoured but still available.

Both closures are part of multi-phase sewer infrastructure improvements expected to continue into 2026. While the projects are located outside Herriman City limits, they are expected to affect many residents' regular travel routes.
