Herriman High School’s boys soccer team has a Cinderella story that won’t soon be forgotten. Some might say it will go down as one of the greatest state championship runs in Utah high school sports history. After going 3-7 in region play, Herriman soccer went into the state playoffs as the 18th seed.
Some asked how they were able to make it happen. But if you look at the scores, most of their losses were determined by one goal (many of them in overtime). They were able to find the magic when it was needed by going on a 7-game winning streak to win the 6A state championship. They beat Davis High School in the final by—you guessed it—one goal. Congratulations!
