We Are Herriman: Streets Department

With more than 140 miles of roads in Herriman and growing, the Herriman Streets Department has a lot to manage and maintain to keep the roadways and sidewalks in our community in a safe condition ready for constant use. Recently highlighted by the Utah Asphalt Pavement Association as part of the National Public Works Week, this crew of 15 works year-round through the challenges and impact Utah’s unique weather extremes have on Herriman’s roads.
Some of the projects the Streets Department works on include the installation and maintenance of street signs, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, asphalt, potholes, and roadside weeds in addition to their annual pavement and crack seal work. Additionally, they plow and spread salt brine for more than 300 lane miles each time it snows in the wintertime. While they understand not every street can be perfect all the time, this crew works hard to ensure an overall smooth ride to your next destination.
